I am happy to hear that Monaray is home and doing well. I pray she’ll be back to her day to day activities soon. Girl, we miss you! I had a nice weekend. The singing program is always good, as is the preaching service. Using Colossians 2: Butch brought his message about “the Supremacy of Christ”. Very moving sermon and I’m so glad to see all the vacationers back.
It was a good opportunity for so many to take a trip. Do not have any information on Sunday night studies in Matthew. To tell you the truth, my age is catching up with me and I was exhausted. I try to listen to what my body tell me.
As much as I love church and all the activities involved sometimes I have to listen to other voices within my body. So sorry to hear of so much going on health wise with so many friends. Millie Henson is in the hospital at Madison with pneumonia and will be transported to Athens later today for more testing.
Dianne Morrow is also in the hospital in Athens with diabetes problems. Both are like our own and have attended so many of our activities and have relatives in our church. Please send up your prayers for them, as well as all the others on our prayer listing.
It was good to have Eleanor Johnson back on Sunday. I just pray she doesn’t do something she shouldn’t do and like Humpty-Dumpty, be put back together one more time. We missed Ruby and Eddie Stewart the last two Sundays.
This Sunday they were so happy to attend the dedication of their youngest grandson at Belmont Baptist Church. And they have had a couple of nice week ends camping, one with their family but the latest with just the two of them at Hartwell.
She said they needed this “R & R” but we sure missed you. Ginny and Danny Bell recently took Ginny’s parents, Felix and Elanor Brunot on a fall trip up to the Blue Ridge area. What a nice gesture. I think they all had a great and enjoyable trip.
Then this weekend the family gave Jackie Bell a birthday party. What joy. I think all her family was in attendance. Martha and Bennie Dooley took another mountain trip to be with Pam and Tommy Thomason. Tommy loves to pick and grin and the family loves to hear him. Stephanie, Lily and Noah Martin along with Mr. Bud Malcom and Shelby Smith had a great time with Aunt Barby and Uncle Riffle at their Tennessee Farm last week.
Then on Saturday, what a celebration with about 50 family members. There was a reunion in celebration of the four living Malcom “children.” Lois M. Brown celebrated her 93th birthday along with Betty and Bud and Dottie, who will celebrate her birthday this weekend as well.
I love reunions. Cindy said they had so much delicious food and everyone celebrated in love and fellowship. One of our youth learned a hard lesson last week. Dylan Stewart was using the wood splitter and had a bad mishap. Honey, you should not try to split your hand.
He did a lot of damage to his right hand and I know he’s been in terrific pain but he toughed it out and came to church on Sunday. Pray for quick and complete healing of this precious one’s hand. Ginny and Jackie Bell attended a Special Ladies Meeting on Saturday at Johnson Memorial Methodist Church.
They had a great inspirational time and the speaker turned out to be a friend of Ginny’s from years back. Miss Betty McDaniel had an outing on Saturday, as her family got her out and attended the Fair. I heard they about wore her out, but what a great memory for the grandchildren to have. Always remember to pray for her.
James and I had a good time on Saturday night at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Covington where they had “Friends and Jesus Day”, with many activities and special singing. We really enjoyed the gospel singers from Clayton County, The Jonesmen.
Thanks Walter for telling me about this one. We always love to hear this group and hope to have them with us in the future. Just a reminder: next Sunday we will observe Pastor Appreciation Day with lunch in the fellowship hall following the service. If you do not have a church home we would love to have you attend our services.
Sunday School at 10 a.m., worship at 11 a.m., Sunday night at 6, studying in Matthew, Wednesday nights, supper at 6:30, studies in Titus at 7. Classes for all ages. Another reminder, our Fall Festival will be on October 25, beginning at 5 p.m. This Friday the 17th, the Moon girls cousin reunion will be meeting at Kelly’s in Loganville.
I told some of the men cousins that we might let them in on the next one. We do enjoy this time together. Belated birthday wishes for Jackie Bell and Bonnie Gardner. Happy birthday to Patsy Greene on the 17th, Dottie Barrett on the 18th and Lance Smith on the 30th.
Happy anniversary blessings for Becky and Ricky Stovall who will celebrate on the 23rd. (A note from me) Do any of my readers do reasonable quilting on the side? I am in need of someone to do four quilts for me. I am on Facebook and my number is listed in the book. I would appreciate any feedback. So until next week may the Lord bless you real good.
