Georgia Mountain Fair and fresh vegetables

We were skeptical of last Tuesday’s weather, and rescheduled our mountain trip for Wednesday.  Almost everyone that had planned to go Tuesday went Wednesday, and were not drenched by downpours.  We saw Ronnie McDowell instead of John Conlee, but Ronnie put on a good show, and we all had a good time touring the festival grounds and enjoying the music.  The fresh vegetable stand had been hurt by the weather, and they were out of some of our favorites, but we got good tomatoes and some other fresh veggies, and, of course, all varieties of apples.  The meal is always good at Daniel’s Steakhouse, and we weren’t very late getting home.  Thank the Lord for better weather and another safe trip for our seniors.  Obviously missing from the group were Diane’s two sisters, Betty Jo Armor and Nancy Gardner.  Both are recovering from recent accidental hip fractures.  We really miss their contributions to our volunteer activities, and our group trips.  Our best wishes for complete and speedy recoveries. We’re gearing up for Halloween, and are decorated for fall.  We have lots of fun planned, so if you’re interested in keeping busy, please stop by our Center at 991 S. Main Street, and see what we have to offer you.
