Morgan County Schools celebrated National School Lunch Week from Oct. 13 to Oct. 17 to encourage lifelong healthy habits of balanced nutrition for students. Mayor Fred Perriman and Middle School Principal Darrell Stephens stepped up to the lunch line to serve students with MCMS’s healthy food choices to students. “We want kids to enjoy eating healthy,” said Perriman. “The theme for this year is ‘Get in the Game with School Lunch.’ It is all about emphasizing the importance of balancing healthy eating and physical activity for kids. Morgan County Middle has taken this opportunity to make activity-themed decorations and invite school staff and community officials to serve lunch,” explained Diane Feagle, school nutrition director.
