Morgan County cheerleaders continue their winning streak with victory at last weekend’s competition. Last weekend at Loganville High School the Morgan County High School (MCHS) Competition Cheerleaders pulled off their third consecutive first-place win. This being only the third competition of the season, the squad has yet to receive anything other than the gold. This impressive three-peat hasn’t come easily. Endless hours of practice and adjustments are necessary for any squad dreaming of first place medals. “We are still working on our first stunt sequence and it is the area that needs the most improvement,” said Coach Denise Frost. Every routine is different, and the highlight of the squad’s performance last week was the cheer and dance portion of the routine. “The strongest point of this performance was our cheer and dance. They were both much cleaner than previous competitions,” said Frost. On Saturday Oct 25 the squad will head to their next competition at Winder-Barrow High School. This competition will host every team in the region. “We will have an opportunity to determine where we stand in relation to our region competitors,” said Frost. For the upcoming competition, Coach Frost and the squad plan to up the difficulty level of their routine with the addition of more standing tumbling. By doing this Morgan County hopes to catch the eye of judges in order to pull off another successful competition.
