The much-anticipated coming farmers’ market, that will be a public-private partnership between Kelly Products and Morgan County, takes another step closer toward completion this week with the hiring of “key contractors” to construct the multipurpose retail site. TriMark Strategic and JMWilliams have been contracted for the design and development of the farmers market, The Farmhouse Market, which will be located south of Madison in Morgan County, off of I-20. The facility is expected to open in the summer of 2015. “Our Farmhouse Market is far more than a traditional farmers’ market; offering visitors the finest cuts of meat and the freshest, Georgia-grown produce, a world-class café showcasing delicious recipes, and ultimately, unique entertainment and educational experiences for the whole family,” said Keith Kelley, president of Kelly Products, based in Covington. “This venture could not be in better hands. Both of these groups are world-class service providers and have done hundreds of similar projects for ventures much larger than ours. From our first meetings, the group dynamic just felt right.” According to Laura Rotroff, Marketing & Communications Manager for Kelly Products, Trimark Strategic will be in charge of the facility design and equipment procurement. JMWilliams will be the general contractor for the project. Kelly Products is also working with Georgia Civil, in Madison, for the site planning and civil engineering needs for the site.  “Our region of the state is abuzz about Kelly Product’s proposed facility.  The steadfast commitment to bringing local food and product to market is a tremendous win-win for producers and consumers alike.  Georgia Civil is excited and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a tremendous team,” said Todd Peaster, partner, Georgia Civil, Inc.  The team expects to break ground before the end of the year.   “Right now, we have every reason to believe that we will be able to break ground before the beginning of 2015 and start construction shortly after that, which puts us on schedule for our anticipated summer launch,” said Kelly. According to Rotroff, JMWilliams opened in 1996 as part of Stiles Corporation of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Williams purchased the Atlanta division in January 2002. As one of the premier general contractors of the southeastern United States, JMWilliams offers a variety of services to clients, specializing in design/build projects. JMWilliams Contractors has completed over $325 million of construction projects since 1996.
