Greetings from The Springs! On Sunday, October 26, 2014, USBC celebrated Pastor’s Appreciation Day in grand fashion. The pastoral staff presiding over the morning’s events were Derrick Worrell, Dr. Kathy Hubbard and Gary Walker. This was our day to tell Pastor T, “We love you!” Hats off to Deacon Johnny Hubbard for coordinating this fantastic day! Amongst all of the festivities, the most powerful part of the program were the breakthrough testimonies announced that occurred following the Three-Day Fast. There were numerous reports of people receiving employment, promotions and raises. Other financial blessings were business owners overflowing with work opportunities and contracts. Even inheritances were collected. Many were praying for healing and received it. Others were seeking more spiritual matters and were able to lead people to Christ. Basically, in all areas of life, strongholds were broken. Throughout the fasting period, the Lord has shown Himself strong in our lives and we know that He will continue to do so. To end our fabulous day, we had our Annual Hallelujah Fest. The children had a blast and the adults were pretty happy, too. There were hay rides, numerous basketball games and the ball toss. Of course you can’t have a festival without a cakewalk and treats such as funnel cakes, popcorn and flavored ice. The true competitive nature of the men vs. the women played out with tug of war battles. Let me tell you that you can’t underestimate the strength of the ladies. They won the first two but the men did not want to be defeated, so for the next tries, they overloaded their side to edge out the ladies. Well, they do say that all’s fair in love and war! To wrap up the afternoon, the youth enjoyed “Trunk-or Treat.” R U Ready? The USBC Women’s Ministry is hosting another powerful morning on Saturday, November 15th at 10 a.m. The theme is “Becoming Transparent Before God,” and if you are a lady that has been struggling with letting something go, this event is for you! Write down your struggles and issues and bring them so that we can finally, and for good, let them go. Don’t miss it. You will be blessed! Did you know that you have supernatural power? Well, during Wednesday Night Bible Study, Pastor Terrell explained that when the spiritual gifts possess you, they enable you to do the work of the church. Your next question may be, “How many gifts can I receive?” All that God gives to you! Even if you want to know just how can you receive the gifts, it is as simple as asking for them. Just pray! The scriptures referenced in this class were Galatians 5:22, 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 14:1 and Luke 11:11-13. This series continues this week. Here is a heads up for you. On November 9, 2014, USBC will host our 139th Church Anniversary. The kitchen staff has already planned another tasty meal, so join us. Spread the word! In closing, a huge thanks goes out to Pastor Terrell for all that you do for us. The church is truly grateful to have a shepherd like you. It speaks volumes that your wife, Toni is always at your side also. You love us, you pray for us and you ALWAYS deliver the Good News! Scripture says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THEM THAT PREACH THE GOSPEL OF PEACE, AND BRING GLAD TIDINGS OF GOOD THINGS!” Thank the Lord for bringing Pastor T to The Springs! Glory Be To God!
