The highly anticipated Third Annual Dancing with Madison’s Stars is almost here. The event will be held on November 13, 2014 at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. This year, ten teams are practicing diligently as they perfect their two minute routines. “You do not want to miss our Third Annual Dancing with Madison’s Stars on November 13! Sarah Burbach, who shared our first Judge’s Favorite award with her husband David, is chairing this year’s event,” said vice president of support services for the Madison-Morgan Boys and Girls Club Nancy Vaughan. Each team performs a two minute routine with choreography of their choice in hopes of taking home one of the two prizes, Judges’ choice or People’s Choice. The People’s Choice award is given to the team that earns the most votes. You can cast as many votes as you would like for your favorite couple at one dollar per vote online. “We are so excited that it’s almost time to present our third annual “Dancing with Madison’s Stars” event to our community! Our dancers have been practicing and raising money for the last two months and are fine-tuning their routines. Our Boys and Girls Club board members, staff, and students are also actively involved in the plans, our local food establishments are donating their delicious signature items, and our committee is ready to “bring on the bling” as we all wait to see who will bring home that coveted mirrored ball trophy! We are all so proud of our local Boys and Girls Club, and the money raised in this event will help fund the wonderful activities they plan and carry out for our young people,” said Dancing with Madison’s Stars Chairman Sarah Burbach. This event will benefit the Madison-Morgan County Boys and Girls Club for the third year in a row and hopes are high to break last years record of $38,000. “Our dancers are honing their skills and we know the competition will be exciting. Voting and ticket sales have already begun – this evening is sure to please,” said Vaughan. This year’s teams are Summer and Lee Abney, Lori and Duncan Hume, Mary Win Ligon and Fulton Pritchett, Betsy and Sandy Morehouse, Cecily and Brooks Pennington, Jessie and Forest Pagett, Dona and Monte Franks, Chris Hodges and Bobby Robinson, and Carrie Peters Reid and Brandon Funches. Dancers Jodie and Dick Schmidt had to drop out due to an injury but are still raising money online. Dancers will be evaluated by judges Stan DeJarnett, Erin Garrett, and Jeremy Skidmore. “It’s awesome to have such a supportive community that helps us keep our doors open,” said Club Director Gari Quiroz. Open seating is $50.00 per person and reserved seating is $75.00 per person. All tables have sold out for the event and chairs around the dance floor are going quickly. Don’t miss this night and head to to vote for your favorite couple and to purchase your tickets. Tickets will also be sold at Pure Bliss downtown Madison.
