Halloween celebrated with high schoolers

Senior Moments:

We had a wonderful week last week, as evidenced by the  picture  on the right and our tired staff.   We had a great group of young people from the High School come and help us celebrate Halloween, by playing games with us and helping us enjoy “treats” .  Thank you to Sonya Meyer and Merritt Ainslie for sharing their day and students with us. As you know,  it is impossible to have a good service program without good volunteers.  This year we were fortunate to have two new volunteers help us out on Friday for our Center party.  Thank you to Advisory Board Chairman, Janice Knight and Jeanette Smith for their morning of bending and stooping to allow our Seniors to enjoy the games and activities. We’ve now left October behind and are looking forward to Thanksgiving.  We will be closed November 11, in honor of Veterans Day, and Transit will also be closed.    Our Holiday meal for Thanksgiving will be November 14th, because we will then be getting ready for our annual Craft Sale, which is our major fund-raiser for the year.  Please mark Saturday, November 22, on your calendars to come see the new gift items we’ve been working on for months now.  These are all made locally, and are great for unique gift-giving. If you missed the Medicare Part D session yesterday, you may still call Georgia Cares at 1-866-552-4464.  This service is free and can give individual counseling into the best avenue for medical services.  Come by or call our Center for any information regarding senior services at (706)342-1614.
