Grandparents raising grandchildren Thanksgiving meal Nov. 17

Six of our monthly WII bowling winners during the past year competed in our bowling tournament on Wednesday, November 3.  Congratulations to Clarice Woods who pin pointed the pins best and came away with the trophy.  This week we are getting ready for our Thanksgiving meal scheduled for Friday the 14th.  We have to plan early because of other community events and our own craft sale which will be the 22nd.  We use the large dining room to showcase our crafts, and it takes a while to get everything in place for that.  A good crowd is expected, so good fellowship will abound.  (Along with good food.) Our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Thanksgiving meal will then follow on Monday the 17th, and Apalachee Baptist Church will help us with the program and with honoring these special caregivers in our community.  We are always on the lookout for other relatives over age 60 who are the primary caregiver, custodian, or guardian of relative children.  If you or someone you know fit this description, please give us a call for more information at (706)342-1614. As we’ve mentioned, our big craft sale will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, and go until about 4:00.  Please take time to come look at our holiday gift-giving ideas.  We will have crocheted and knitted items, along with the ceramics that our volunteers and members have been working on for several months now.  We have some new items, and there is something for everyone – including a bulldog table.  Mark your calendars and come by for this important fund raiser for our program.
