The Morgan County Middle School Boys Basketball team beat Clarke Middle 38-31 in the Saturday, Nov. 8 preseason home game. “We played with a good intensity,” said Coach Milfred Franklin. “We got a little over-excited at times as it was our first competition of the season, but the boys played through it and got into the game.” Coach Franklin also said that while the team did have a few uncharacteristic turnovers in the first half, they were able to correct the problem in the second half. The third quarter was the standout moment for the MCMS Bulldogs as they forced a few key turnovers to maintain and secure the lead. Jordan Huff played a great game Saturday, scoring 14 points for Morgan County. Alec Woodard also played very well, with 11 points. Coach Franklin said that the team was excited for the season, and has high hopes for the team. The MCMS basketball team will play another preseason game Friday in Morgan County.
