The Humane Society of Morgan County (HSMC) will be hosting a ‘Bow Wow Breakfast’ on November 28th at the Lions Club building for their Injured and Sick Animal Fund. The breakfast will be from 8-11:30 a.m., with the tickets being $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and kids under 5 are free. Families and pets will be able to take pictures with special guest Santa for $5. This annual breakfast fundraiser will include a raffle, a silent auction and the pictures with Santa. The tickets are will go towards the various programs, but especially their Injured and Sick Animal Fund which allows HSMC to rescue animals that require extra medical attention. As of now, 170 tickets to the breakfast have been sold with Humane Society still urging purchases. Samantha Caraway, the Animal Care Specialist, stated that “This event is going to keep our shelter running and our sick and injured animals well cared for”. Last year, the Bow Wow Breakfast raised close to $3,000 and this year the HSMC is hoping to exceed that sum. The HSMC will have an appetizing breakfast spread consisting of warm pancakes, tasty sausage and bacon. With everyone, from board members to employees to volunteers working together to host this event, the Bow Wow Breakfast is one the primary charity event for the HSMC. This year’s raffle grand prize is amounting to be $10,000 with around 200 tickets sold for a $100 apiece. The raffle tickets can be bought directly from the Humane Society, or from Amelia’s Apparel and Accessories and from Barkin’ Dogs Shoe Company located on Main Street Madison. The tickets for the breakfast are being sold online at HumaneMorgan.org and can be requested at 706-343-9977. The HSMC wants to acquire as many participants as possible, thus allowing them to fulfill their fundraising goal, so they will be selling tickets at the door for $12 of the Lions Club building located on 1240 Lions Club Road.
