Schools earn state top 10 ranking

Niche, a research website that collects millions of student polls, parent reviews and statistics on more than 120,000 schools, released its 2015 list of Best School Districts in the State of Georgia, with Morgan County Schools placing 10th in the state of Georgia.. Superintendent James Woodard was pleased to hear the news. “We are blessed to have a community which embraces the qualities of a top 10 Georgia system!  Our community expects quality schools and this recognition exemplifies the commitment of our leaders, teachers, staff, parents, community, and most of all students,” said James Woodard Niche assigns grades to various categories when ranking schools. Morgan County Schools earned an A in Student Culture and Diversity, an A in Sports and Fitness, a B+ in the Academics a B+ in Teachers, a B+ in Facilities and Resources, and a C+ in Health and Safety. Morgan County Schools also earned an overall 4.3 rating (out of five) on the student/parent survey. According to Niche, its list ranks 8,738 school districts based on dozens of key statistics and 4.6 million opinions from 280,000 students and parents. A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers, sufficient resources, and a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experiences very highly.
