The Morgan County High School (MCHS) JV Girls basketball team battled to the end in their game against the Buford Wolves but came up short with a final score of Buford 39 and MCHS 34. “Overall, we played a solid game against a quality opponent. I loved the way the girls competed in the game and came back from an 11 point deficit to tie the game up with nearly a minute left to play,” said Coach Brett Bell. Alisha Ellis led the team with 11 points and Myishia Williams with 8. “Taleah Adams, Cailee Anderson, Morgan Walker, and Janaisha Ross provided great minutes for the Bulldogs,” said Bell. Aris Hubbard had an impressive game getting rebounds and blocking shots as well as Sarah Couch who demonstrated great leadership. “We missed some easy buckets early in the game and missed too many free throws late in the game which cost us a win,” explained Bell Bell and his team were able to take away important lessons from their game against Buford. “ The good thing is that this is all correctable and we will be working our basic fundamentals to better ourselves on the offense and defensive end,” said Bell. With a busy schedule, the JV Girls will face East Jackson at home on Tuesday Dec.9 and Elbert County on Friday Dec. 12.
