Adolphus Mack Young Jr., or Junior as he was known, died Sunday, December 7, 2014. Mr. Young was born in Morgan County on July 7, 1934 to Adolphus and Adelle Peters Young. He was a graduate of Morgan County High School and worked as a meat cutter for Colonial Stores. He was married to Beverly Taylor on December 18, 1953. He was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and cooking. He also enjoyed refinishing furniture. Mr. Young loved his family and time spent together. Junior Young is survived by his wife Beverly Young and two daughters, Melinda Gurr (Don) and Leigh Ann Hensley (Joe); grandchildren Ryan Barrett (Tanya), Kellen Barrett (Woody), Kyle Ward (Lela) and Jeanie Cottrell (Jody); great grandchildren Mia and Hudson Barrett and Ella Ryan Cottrell; a brother Robert Young and nieces and nephews Alice Young, Angie Young, Mack Bohlen (Kay) and Wilbur Bohlen (Linda). He was preceded in death by a sister Della Mae Bohlen and a brother Porter Young. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at A. E. Carter Funeral Home. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the charity of your choice. A. E. Carter Funeral Home had care of arrangements.
