Victory was sweet for The Morgan County High School (MCHS) Varsity Girls Basketball team as they took down the Buford Wolves with a final score of 46-44. Coach Joshua Reeves was happy to get the win and saw improvement in his team’s performance against Buford. “Last night’s game was a tough one and it was nice to win a close one. In the past couple of games, we haven’t been able to pull those games out. Our girls are getting better game by game and that is why we play a tough opening schedule,” explained Reeves. Although Buford presented a challenge to the Lady Dogs, the team fought to the finish. “Lots of girls contributed and did the little things that help you win ball games,” said Reeves. Sydney Nash and Pumpkin Brown contributed to the Lady Dog win with 12 points each followed by Tatyana Davis with 10. “Next week we start region play so we are getting into the important part of our season. Securing the number one seed it’s very valuable in our region and that is our goal now,” explained Coach Reeves. The team will take their experience from Saturday’s win against Buford into consideration while preparing for upcoming games. The Lady Dogs are scheduled to play East Jackson at home on Tuesday and hit the road for Elbert on Friday. Be sure to support your Morgan County Lady Dogs!
