The annual Tour of Homes, sponsored by the Morgan County Historical Society, in which private historical home owners open their doors to their decked out Christmas home to the public to raise money for Heritage Hall. Ruth Felix, house manager of Heritage Hall, estimated that about 2200 people came through the Tour of Homes in two days. “We are very pleased,” said Felix. “This pays for the maintenance on Heritage Hall. Every penny we make goes back to this house. It keeps this house looking pretty. And we couldn’t do it without the Tour of Homes.” The tour featured not only historic private homes, but historic churches and a stop at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, too. “We would be remiss here if we didn’t acknowledge and thank all our generous private homeowners who opened their homes for your enjoyment; also the church and museums. We also owe a big thank you to the support team of House Captains and docents, the more than a hundred volunteers who make this day possible,” said the executive committee and board of the Historical Society in a joint statement.
