Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia, Inc. (BGCNCG) has named Landers A. Thomas to serve as the regional youth organization’s Chief Executive Officer effective April 20, 2015. Thomas is an organizational, marketing and fund development professional with extensive executive level experience in public relations, branding, strategic planning and public policy with expertise in nonprofit administration, organizational development, partnership building and leadership training.
Thomas received a football scholarship from Georgia Tech and finished his B.S. in Business Administration at Trinity College and University in San Antonio, Texas. He has 18 years of success in both the for-profit corporate sector and non-profit organizations focusing on community and resource development and organization leadership. His most recent position was Associate Director for the American Diabetes Association based in Atlanta where he raised over $500,000 in new support in his first year while rebranding the organization’s image in the community. He is very involved in the community and has provided consulting services to local, state and national nonprofits in organizational development, fundraising, marketing, branding and public relations.
Thomas is a certified grant-writer through the American Grant Writers’ Association, serves on the Westwood College Advisory Council and Georgia Tech’s Lettermen Council. He as conducted numerous nonprofit workshops for the faith-based community and takes pride in helping others to make their dreams a reality. “We are delighted to have found a strong leader with the exceptional qualities and experience that Landers Thomas possesses,” said Mike Conrads, chairman of the Board of Directors of BGCNCG. “Finding someone to lead this organization through the rapid growth we anticipate required an arduous and thorough process.
