Autumn is in the air. Only a few days before it is here. I am enjoying these cool mornings and evenings when the sun goes down. We had a great time Saturday at Madison Health and Rehab. Everyone was in there respectively place. Mother Elaine Atkinson presided; Mother Rebecca Hubbard had the opening song; Sis. Linda Cumming read scripture; Sis. Quita Bell had the prayer; Sis. Carolyn Hill offered words of inspiration; Mother Mary Weaver was present ; Sis. Amber Goss offered words of comfort and a poem; Sis. Willie Ann Johnson read a poem; Mother Doris Shepherd brought the Word from Psalm 139: 23 and 24, entitled, “It’s Time for a spiritual checkup.” When we go to God for a check up we need to ask Him to search me O God and know my heart, test me and know my thoughts. Point out to me anything in me that offends you. If you find anything that is not pleasing to you cleanse me and give me a path of ever lasting life. One thing about this check up you don’t have to make an appointment because he’s always ready at all times. Search me Lord. Praise God for a powerful word. Keep doing the work of God Mother Shepherd. A job well done. We missed Sis. Hazel Lunceford Saturday. She was still in bed and the nurse did not want to disturb her. We respected that. Hoping she’ll be with us on our next visit. We missed Evangelist Lizzie Stokes Saturday due to a death in her family. Condolence goes out to her. Keep all the sick, shut-ins in your prayers. Thought for the week: “Search me Lord.”
