The annual Lions Club Fair persevered despite rainy weather all last week. Families still found moments of clear weather to bring their kids out for some rides, games and food. According to the Madison Lions Club, all proceeds from the Fair are given back to the local communities through the numerous organizations supported by the Madison Lions Club. The total amount generated has not been reported to the Citizen at this time.
According to the club’s website, “The Madison Lions Club hosts the annual event on their 14 acres located at the corner of Fairgrounds Road and Lions Club Drive. There is something magical about cotton candy, candied apples and exciting rides. The excitement is almost uncontrollable as the young Fair-goers work their way to the rides. The lights, the music, and the mass of people create that special family time especially for the little ones.”
“The area 4-H Clubs compete for ribbons and bragging rights in such events as the skills of livestock showmanship, photography and baking. The local Humane Society comes over from their nearby facility with some of their furry friends in need of a home. FERST Foundation attends to sign up youngsters for free books.”
