The swim team had another successful meet at Chamblee High School last week and put on a nice showing. Coach Steve Delaigle said, “While the women placed fifth and the men finished seventh out of thirteen teams the Swim Dogs held their own against teams never faced before and teams three times our size.”  Top place finisher for the women’s team was senior Mary Claire Cardwell finishing first in both the women’s 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke.

Top place finishers for the men were freshmen, John Degonia finishing sixth in the 100 yard individual medley and John Cardwell finishing sixth in the 100 yard backstroke.

The women’s A relay, consisting of Marie Clair Cardwell, Ellie Askew, Ellie Conn and Lily Courchaine, finished sixth in the 200 yard medley relay and subbing Caroline Schlabach for Askew finished sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay.  The men’s A relay, consisting of John Cardwell, John Degonia, Drei Wasgis and Zac Seymour, finished sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay and seventh in the 200 yard Medley relay. Morgan did not participate in the UGA swim meet that was scheduled. Next up will be a meet at Eastside High School on January 8th.
