Morgan County authorities have issued arrest warrants and are seeking a Covington man accused of pointing a gun at a man’s head during an argument over money. According to Morgan County Sheriff Office reports, Jason Henry, 32, is wanted on charges of aggravated assault, cruelty toward children and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On January 12, reports state, Henry and a 15-year-old male and 28-year-old male were building a shed on Mallard Ridge Road. While the men jump-started Henry’s vehicle, the 28-year-old man sat in the car working the throttle. When the vehicle was running, Henry left the area to drive to the store. When he returned, reports state, he accused the 28-year-old man of taking $350. He then allegedly struck the man in the jaw, knocking him to the ground and while he was on the ground Henry allegedly produced a pistol and pointed it at the man’s head. A third man at the scene told authorities he calmed Henry down and convinced him to put the pistol away. Henry then allegedly cut the man’s pants off to search his pockets for the missing money. The 15-year-old told authorities that at this point he helped the man to his feet and the pair fled. Henry then allegedly fired a shot in the air at the fleeing men.
