The Morgan County Senior Center bids farewell to Benita Watkins. The Morgan County Senior Center Members, Advisory Council, Friends and Staff bid farewell to Benita Watkins on December 11, 2015 after eight selfless years giving back to her community.
Mrs. Watkins served as the Director of both the Morgan County Senior Center and Morgan County Transit. She is a roll-up your sleeve kind of person where no job or task was ever too hard. She was very compassionate and committed to the elderly she served; she was always thinking of others and ensuring their needs were met. During Mrs. Watkins’ tenure, the Morgan County Transit has become a vital asset in transporting an increasing number of people to and from work daily as well as medical appointments.
Many new programs have been added such as water aerobics, low-impact exercising, line dancing, time of reflection, and poetry just to name a few to ensure all seniors found something they could enjoy while attending the Senior Center. Mrs. Watkins will truly be missed. She will always be remembered as someone who loved and strived to improve the quality of life for the Senior Citizens of Morgan County. Thank You Benita Watkins
