A Social Circle woman died after a 2009 Toyota Corolla she was driving struck two trees and burst into flames. According to Georgia State Patrol reports, Amber Lain Grant, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Reports state that at approximately 1:27 a.m. on January 30 Grant’s Toyota drifted of the right side of Davis Academy Road while attempting to negotiate a curve and travelled approximately 170 feet before Grant overcorrected the vehicle. The Toyota then slid on Davis Academy road approximately 100 feet before dropping into a ditch off the south shoulder and striking a tree. The vehicle then rotated counter clockwise, reports state, and struck another tree. “At some point during the crash (the vehicle) became engulfed i flames and the driver was consumed by fire. The crash occurred approximately one–tenth of a mile into Walton County on Davis Academy Road.
