“Coach Taylor” Micha Allen Taylor “Coach Taylor”, 32, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at Mayor Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born October 2, 1984 in Monroe to the parentage of Harold and Bernice Thomas Taylor. He graduated from Morgan County High School in 2003. He furthered his education at Georgia College and State University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education in 2007 and a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an Education Specialist in 2014 from Valdosta State University. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in Madison. He knew he wanted to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Micha was a member of the staff of Bibb County School System teaching at Rutland Middle School in 2007 and later moved to Howard High School, where he was a Physical Education Teacher and an assistant coach. He loved his job but most of all he wanted to make a difference with the students.
He will always be remembered and loved by his parents Harold and Bernice Thomas Taylor of Buckhead; grandmother Grace Glover of Detroit, Mich.; sister Monae Taylor; his only niece Amiyah Cole of Madison; goddaughter Ashleigh Williams of Athens; aunt, Louise Thomas and Virginia Thomas; uncles Ricky (Lisa) Thomas and Lee Thomas of Madison and Jack Thomas of Athens and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hyman presiding and Rev. Martin Kemp Eulogist. Pallbearers were members of the Morgan County High School Class of 2003 and members of Georgia College & State University Class of 2007. The flower bearers were members of the Morgan County High School Class of 2003. Watts Funeral Home, Inc. of Union Point was in charge of arrangements.
