Always the smell of fresh soil when the planting a garden

In talking with different people we said that the year is flying so fast. We are almost into March. People prepare some land to get ready to plant a garden. Some tomato plants will be in the ground. Different seed are planted in that beautiful land. Some get ready to have a flower garden. It’s got to be fun to get out and walk in the soft, freshly plowed soil without shoes. When I was a small girl daddy let me walk behind him when he plowed. Of course our feet got dirty, but it washed off so easily. I felt that it was a lot of pleasure. There was always a smell to the fresh soil. Ron and Margie Denning will celebrate their 16th anniversary on February 29. You know this is Leap year. So if that is the case they have an anniversary time every four years? Margie spent a few days with Edna Smith, her mother. Her grandchildren came with her. Her grandchild Olivia Denning will have her 13th birthday on February 29. There will be a baby shower for Christie Van Cleve on February 27 at 2 p.m. at Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel.

There will also be a baby shower for Angie Jordon on February 28 at 2 p.m. at the church. The Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel will have a program on March 3. It will be “Young at Heart Senior” Conference. Their speaker will be Jon Reed. The program will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. You are invited. Please bring a covered dish. The church will begin on March 21-25 to have Easter Holy Week. There will be a different minister at a church every day. Rev. Alvis Richardson will be at Brownwood on March 22. Rev. Jeff Hicks will preach at Lake Oconee Baptist Chapel on March 24. The date of March 21 is still open. Whatever minister you have will speak on Holy Week leading up to Easter. Why not visit a church to hear the sermon from a visiting minister? You might find a church home.
