The Morgan County United Way Advisory Board held their monthly meeting and were thrilled to hear they had raised more than $45,000, exceeding their goal of $30,000.  This is the largest amount raised since the board was formed in 2007.   A record $6,700 was raised at the kickoff Celebrity Server dinner and live auction in September at the Chop House Grille. Last year fourteen of the 29 United Way of Northeast Georgia agencies assisted 4,781 individuals in Morgan County.   The Caring Place in Madison is a member agency in the United Way of Northeast Georgia and receives annual funding towards their mission of providing food to residents in need. We appreciate the support of the individual contributors in Morgan County, as well as the many businesses and their employees who contributed to this year’s campaign.

They are:  The Creative Mark, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Bank of Madison, Georgia Power, Lowe’s, Regions Bank, Wal-mart, Good Samaritan Hospital,  Mannington Commercial, International Paper, Lane Conrads Corporation, Fierman Law Firm, Treadwell, Tamplin, and Company.  Employees of the Morgan County Board of Education and the individual schools continue to be one of the top contributors. Other local businesses who supported this year’s campaign with in-kind services are The Morgan County Citizen, Nuart Printers, and The Chop House Grille.  Last year eight agencies served 1,985 individuals in Greene County.  The companies and employees of Publix Supermarket, The Good Samaritan Hospital, and the Ritz Carlton at Lake Oconee also support United Way of North Georgia with their contributions. United Way of Northeast Georgia is proud that eighty nine cents of every dollar contributed goes to the agencies that support the needs of the many they serve.
