Springtime sports are well underway and the middle soccer squads are off and running to identical 3-0 starts and in the lead for the Piedmont Athletic Conference title. Coach Hiram Johnston’s girls’ team defeated Greene, and Putnam earlier in the year and then destroyed Social Circle 10-0 in their latest outing. His team won the PAC a year ago and is possibly headed to a repeat performance. The boys are again being coached by Cameron Woodward and his team has yet to be tested in their three conference wins. They defeated Greene County 4-1, Putnam County 6-1, and Social Circle 7-2 to date. In the home opener vs. Greene Grayson Jarman scored twice while Trace Blanton and Cooper Allen each had one goal. In the Putnam game Trace Blanton was on fire scoring five goals and Connor Clark added one for the six game total. Four different players scored against Social Circle with Blanton again leading the way with four and Will Kuperberg, Allen, and Landon Huff each scoring one in the win.
