The deputy allegedly retrieved a small plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine from Cartey’s rear pocket. Cartey alleged told the deputies that someone else had placed the plastic bag in his pocket. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine and failure to maintain lane. His vehicle was towed. A female passenger with him was given a courtesy ride to the Putnam County line where Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deputies picked her up and gave her a ride home. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. on March 20 and 12:25 a.m. on March 21.
