Massey faces cocaine charges

A man wanted on outstanding family violence warrants out of Walton County now faces drug charges in Morgan County. According to Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reports, Joel Jacob Massey, 64, Madison was arrested on Friday, March 18 after Morgan County deputies Shawn O’Kelly and Ryan Saye observed Massey vacuuming a vehicle at an Eatonton Road business. Reports state that when the deputies attempted to secure Massey he allegedly resisted. After Massey was secured, reports state, a deputy allegedly found a black plastic container in his front pocket that contained five Oxicodone pills; a black cloth bag in another pocket that contained 15 individually wrapped clear bags of suspected cocaine. Reports state that the bags weighed, collectively, 5.1 grams. Deputies also confiscated $828 in cash. Massey has been charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of Oxicodone and prescription drugs not in original container.
