Milton Eugene Wynn, Jr. (Gene), 89 of Madison, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2016. The family received friends on Saturday, March 19 from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service was held Sunday in the chapel of A. E. Carter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. A private committal service followed. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and devoted friend to many. He was born in Hahira, in 1926. He served in the Navy in World War II, married Ann Cocroft in 1951 and moved to Apalachee in 1952 with Ann. He worked locally while helping with the old Sturgis/Cocroft farm, owned by Ann’s mother Maude Cocroft, located between Apalchee and Bostwick. Gene, Ann and Chip subsequently moved to Hollywood, Fla. in 1962 where Gene enjoyed a successful career as a partner in a Food Brokerage Firm. In 1976, Gene and family moved back to the old family farm, later retiring in Madison. Over the years he was a active member of the Lions Club and local American Legion post.
