After the success of this past year’s Old Buckhead Days race, Buckhead City Council members discussed different options of spending the profits, including adding better playground equipment to the park.

With the just over $2300 raised from the race put on at the beginning of April, along with left over profits from the previous year, council members looked at different options of playground equipment that would be best for the community, but also feasible in terms of their budget.

As for the 2016-2017 budget for Buckhead, the council will hold an extra meeting during the end of June along with their regular monthly meeting to allow the public to voice any opinions or concerns over this year’s budget.

The council will also be holding extra meetings within the month of July to discuss the 2016-2017 millage rate plan. If council members decide to make increases to the millage rate, they will need to hold extra meetings throughout the month.
