After coming off their best season ever by finishing seventh in the state competition a year ago, Coach Denise Frost is looking for big things from her squad next year.  The team has a summer full of camps coming up to help them reach their goals.

Frost commented, “Spirit camp is next week for the football sideline squad.  We are going to the University of South Carolina at Beaufort to the FCA camp.  This will be our third year attending an FCA camp.  We will learn cheers, chants, and dances to bring back to include in next year’s games and pep rallies.  The competition squad held their annual choreography camp last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the MCHS gym.  We brought in choreographers from United Cheerleading Gym out of Columbus, GA.  We learned our entire routine for next season.”

Coach Ashley Wegmann had this to say, “We are very excited about learning our routine for next year.  We will work on perfecting the material we learned this week from now until November.  Our region competitors have changed quite a bit, and we are excited about competing against some new teams next year.  We have a strong team of hard-working, committed athletes that the coaching staff feels will see a lot of success next year.”

The cheer squad’s kiddie camp is July 18-22 from 9 a.m. until 11:30.
