Heyward Robert Bennett
Dr. Heyward Robert ”Bob” Bennett, 77 of Madison, died June 14, 2016 at his home. Dr. Bennett was born in Statesboro but spent his life in Morgan County.
After high school, he attended the University of Georgia, where he obtained his degree in veterinary science. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Growing up, he enjoyed showing cattle and continued to be involved with the local Future Farmers of America. He also liked to fish and quail hunt. Dr. Bennett will also be remembered as a talented story teller.
Dr. Bennett is survived by his children, Rob Bennett and Katie, Leigh Morris and Brannon, Lyn Rawlins and Greg and Dee Kelnhofer and Frank. His grandchildren are Marlin, Rob, Maggie, Rae, Bo, Chambers, Sam, Dottie and Ben. Dr. Bennett leaves a brother, Ray Bennett and Genia as well as nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his little dog, Ollie, who was by his side until the very end.
The family received friends at A.E. Carter Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16 from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Morgan County FFA 1231 College Drive Madison, GA 30650.
Lonnie Williams, of Madison, died June 19, 2016. He was born in Nicholsville, Vir., on October 14, 1940 to Rev. William Henry Williams and Ora Myrtle McCarty Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Mae Skeens Williams.
He is survived by his children: Ray Williams of Columbia, SC, Carolyn Peters of Madison, Tommy and Linda Williams of Social Circle; siblings, Irene Fields of Big Stone Gap, Vir, Georgia McCloud of Gate City, Vir, Yvonne Viney of Kingsport, Tenn, Randy Williams of Laurens, SC; half siblings, Rose Cooper of Colonial Heights, Tenn, Kelsie Minnick of Lynn Garden, Tenn; grandchildren, Allen Peters, Andrew Williams, Lauren Peters, Whitney Williams, Dakota Williams, Hunter Williams; and great grandchildren, Aubrey Peters, Easton Meeks and Beau Peters.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 21, at 3 p.m. at Jersey Holiness Church with Rev. Lynn Head and Rev. Randall Allgood officiating. Interment followed at Jersey Holiness Church Cemetery.

Logan Elane Davis of Newborn passed away June 18, 2016, at 18 years of age. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Judy (Cofield) Breedlove.
Survivors include her parents, David Lee and Tracey Breedlove Davis; sister, Taylor Davis; grandparents, Tommy and Judy (Beal) Breedlove of Rutledge, David and Judy Davis of Lexington, Ky.; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Logan was held Wednesday, June 22, 7 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with Rev. Dr. Royeese Stowe officiating.
