Morgan County residents gathered in Town Park this past week to listen to “the popular styles of the 1920s/30s” music performed by Tray Dahl & The Jugtime Ragband, that incorporated jazz, blues, swing, and old time gospel that everyone could enjoy.
Tray Dahl & The Jugtime Ragband played a mix of their own music and covers of older songs that were familiar to some, but brand new to others. They also had a mix of different instruments that they all played to make an even more interesting mix of sounds and styles.
“All music is good, but this is uniquely good. It’s fantastic,” said one of the guests at the concert, Steve Buice.
The band members had fun with each other on stage and with the crowd, and people of all ages were having their own fun out on the lawn.
The lead singer, Tray Dahl, shared her enthusiasm with being able to play in Madison and how much they enjoy the people.
“We love Madison,” said Dahl. “We have a couple of friends in the area, we enjoy the restaurants…and we do really like the people.”
Tray Dahl & The Jugtime Ragband have been booked to play in Madison three times before, with once being rained out, but all the other times, the people of Madison really enjoyed the band and the members enjoyed the people.
Morgan County residents can look forward to more music performances and movies throughout the month of June and July as part of the Oh, Those Summer Nights! in Town Park.
Performances and movies include Footloose on June 16, The Hobohemians concert on June 30, The Goonies on July 7, Swamp Rabbit Railroad concert on July 14, and Grassland String Band on July 21.
Residents can also enjoy City of Madison fireworks on July 1, as well as Firefly Festival events on July 29 and 30.
