Mary “Evelyn” Hunnicutt Godwin
Mary “Evelyn” Hunnicutt Godwin was born October 13, 1932 in the Rehoboth community. Her parents were Shirley A. Christian and Mary Cobb Christian Daws. She died July 20, 2016. Mrs. Godwin was married to Tommy Hunnicutt who preceded her in death. She later married the now late, Arthur Godwin. Mrs. Godwin was a member of Buckhead Baptist Church. She was retired after having worked at Morgan Sportswear and Rutledge Sportswear. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Mrs. Godwin is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee Thompson ( Joe), a son, Perry Hunnicutt (Debbie) and a sister, Margaret Daws. She also leaves granddaughters: Misty Hunnicutt, Sabrina Hunnicutt and Katie Hunnicutt Holder (Keith). Her great grandchildren are Connor, Emilee, Sophia and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy Hunnicutt and Arthur Godwin and her daughter Annette Hunnicutt Self,as well as a sister, Bulia Hunnicutt and a brother Chester Christian.
The family received friends on Friday. July 22 from 5-8 p.m. at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment followed at the Rehoboth Cemetery.
Judy Ann Callaway Leach
Judy Ann Callaway Leach, 67 of Conyers, died July 29, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Dolphus Callaway and Christine Mooney. She was retired from Wal-Mart. Ms. Leach was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Leach is survived by a son, Doug Leach and Kelly. Her grandchildren are Skyler, Parker and Kinsley Leach. She also leaves a brother, Dale Callaway and a sister, Nita Bishop.
The funeral service was held Sunday, July 31 at 4 p.m. at A.E. Carter Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Buckhead Cemetery.
Roy Lamar Durrance
Roy Lamar Durrance, 58 of Madison, died July 23, 2016. He was a native of Daytona Beach, Fla. Roy was born December 19, 1957 to Herman and Nancy White Durrance. He worked as a lineman. Roy was married to his wife of 32 years, Ann Bingham Durrance. He was a member of Fusion Church Madison. He was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Roy Durrance is survived by his wife, Ann and two children, Kelly Sue Durrance and Michael Roy Durrance. Mr. Durrance has three grandchildren, Chloe Lynn Durrance, Landon Michael Durrance and Kelsey Marie Riddle. He also leaves a great grandson, Jackson Tyler Riddle as well as a host of brothers and sisters.
The family received friends on Saturday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at Fusion Church. The memorial service was held at noon.

Ruby Mae Pitts
Ruby Mae Pitts died July 28, 2016. She was born October 23, 1938 to Arnold and Maude Hunt Pitts in Atlanta. She was a 1959 graduate of Pearl High School in Madison. She was retired from Headstart, Inc. after 31 years of service.
Ruby is survived by her daughters, Terri E. Hunt and Vickie D. Chatman; granddaughters, Ashley M. Elder and Briana N. Elder, grandson Cleveland Hurt III, great granddaughter Zion M. Revere; brother Willie F. Pitts Sr., sisters Annie M. Simmons (Frederick) and Rosa M. Pitts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers were Clement Adams, Cedric Huff, Willie Pitts Jr., Dexter Pitts, Kennedy Simmons and Kendrick Simmons. Flower attendants were Vickie Farley, Janice Thomas, Kathy Magee, Kayla Magee, Sierra Canteen and Angela Simmons.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Monticello with Pastor Nathan D. Durham officiating. Interment was in Shady Dale Community Cemetery.
Watts Funeral Home, Union Point was in charge of arrangements.
