By golly I’ve got it! The long-awaited reopenin’ of Antique Sweets, located at 127 South Main Street in downtown Madison, literally bent the geometry of space-time, resultin’ in a curved shape of gravity and thus triggerin’ the Cartoon Continuum! Lord Have Mercy! So many people all over the South and Morgan County have been flat besides themselves waitin’ on Antique Sweets to open back up we smack cracked the universe! And now honey it has finally happened! Bulldog Bites, fudge, ice cream, peanut brittle . . . I flat cannot wait for CANDY! I’ve gotta get over there immediately! Right smack this minute! Momma! Why in the Sam Hill are you grinnin’ like a mule! Oh! I flat near forgot this press-stoppin’ story! Amelia’s in downtown Madison is flat expandin’ into Athens, Georgia! And, this is a cool, cool local shopin’ story if there ever was one! Right so anyhow, there’s a fantastic shop in downtown Athens called The Grinning Mule Company located at 1738 South Lumpkin Street in Athens!

Anyhow it’s owned by a fun, local Morgan County couple! Wade and Judy Moore! Yes! Well y’all Wade as it turns out is a very talented men’s fashion designer and has designed his own line of men’s clothing and it’s flat fabulous. You can check it out at www.grinningmule.com! Anyway, Grinning Mule fashions are more handsome than any other men’s line you can think of! Right so as it happens, Amelia’s owner Kim Watts and Wade and Judy are all friends and this idea popped in their heads to add women’s clothing to the shop and ding dang! There you have it! Part of the Grinning Mule shop in Athens is dedicated to men’s clothing and another part is dedicated to Amelia’s fabulous women’s brands! I flat love it when I see people co-branding! Y’all head over to Athens and check it out!

Oh me! A new restaurant has opened y’all and it’s grand openin’ is this Saturday, Aug. 6 with free samples startin’ at 9 a.m.! It’s called “This and That – A Little Bit of Breakfast and it’s located at 1990 Eatonton Road next to Chevron! Get over there Saturday and check it all out!

What in the world! Nancy and George Launius, owners of Thrifty Mac in downtown Madison, just celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary in a big, big way! Right so I was in there getting’ my meds the other day and in walks Nancy in a ding dang wedding dress to surprise George! Not only that, there were three bridesmaids with her! I mean now that’s a surprise! So Thrifty Mac just had a wedding this week! I do believe the wedding was well attended and enjoyed by all. After the Thrifty Mac wedding ceremony, the happy couple enjoyed a luncheon at The Waffle House. The couple returned right back to work!

Ok that’s it! But don’t be sad ‘cause . . . Sing it with me y’all: “You’re all invited back next week to this locality, to have a heapin’ helpin’ of Citizen hospitality. Biz Buzz that is. Set a spell. Take your shoes off. Y’all come back now, ya’ hear?
