Morgan County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the position of Elections
Supervisor. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma and prior experience in Public Administration, Business Management, or related area; must include supervisory experience. Preference will be given for a Bachelor or Associate Degree from an accredited college or university, and/or for Elections and
NATURE OF WORK: Performs specialized work preparing for, administering and supervising elections, primaries, and registration of electors for the county; and directs and manages all election and voter registration staff personnel. This position reports to the Board of Elections.
SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
Ensures current Georgia Election Code and
Rules of the State Election Board are implemented to the complete spirit and intent of the law. Plans and oversees all federal, state, county and city elections in Morgan County when approved. Plans and organizes voter registration, as well as registration of qualified electors. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Recruits and trains qualified voters as poll workers. Surveys voting precincts to assure compliance with federal law. Has knowledge or willing to be trained on Georgia Easy Vote platforms. Prepares and verifies certified lists of qualified candidates, amendments and referendums. Verifies election districts and precincts to create ballot images for the Georgia Election Management System Serves as customer service and public relations liaison between citizens of Morgan County, other county departments, municipal clerks, candidates and state officials. Prepares and monitors annual budget. Confers with Board of Elections to keep them informed on key issues and progress toward objectives. Prepares and/or directs preparation of reports for the Secretary of State, Finance Department, Information Technology Department, and Board of Elections as required. This position is a full time, benefited position to be responsible for planning and coordinating over 700 user contracts at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. The person occupying this position must schedule and coordinate various types of events and services, including security, technical arrangements, lodging, food service, and programming services. This person is also responsible for accurately billing these groups for services rendered and making bank deposits in a timely manner. This position works under the supervision of the 4-H Center Director and serves as a liaison between Rock Eagle departments and/or external and internal conference groups.
