he Morgan Memorial Hospital Auxillary held their annual Festival of Friends fundraiser last Saturday. Hospital leaders are still tallying final totals, but have so far brought in over $28,000 through Festiva of Friends, with funds still coming in. The event attracted over 200 attendees, and featured over 65 hosts, 8 themed dinner parties, and 100 auction items.
“It looks like we have had another successful year,” said Megan Morris, Director of Development and Community Relations. “We are so grateful to the many individuals who came together to make the evening such as success our auxiliary members, physicians, dinner hosts, auction donors, and community members who purchased tickets all had a part in ensuring that we can continue to provide excellent healthcare locally!”
Festival of Friends featured several separate dinner parties, each with their own unique themes, including: Mama’s Home Southern Cookin, a chic and sophisticated Black and White gala, a tribute to Broadway, The Roaring 20s, Barbeque Blue Grass and Brews, and more! In addition to raising funds through the various dinner parties, Festival Friends also featured an extensive silent auction to help raise funds for the hospital.
All monies raised by the auxiliary go to support the hospitals current needs for both equipment and facilities. Most recently (2015) the auxiliary contributed $75,000 to provide an Inpatient Physical Therapy Gym in the new hospital.
The auxiliary hosts two primary fundraisers each year, Festival of Friends, and Love Light Tree. This years Love Light Tree fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6.
