A 67-year-old Buckhead man was found dead after authorities responding to a welfare check found the man sitting in a living room chair.

According to Capt. Chris Bish, investigation division, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the man had been dead between two to four days before deputies responded to a call from a friend who had not spoken to the man for several days.

Bish said authorities are not identifying the man until family members can be notified. The man lived by himself in a residence on Blue Springs Court. His body was found by officers at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 17.

Bish said there was no apparent evidence of foul play at the scene. “It has all the indications that he died from natural causes,” he said.

“The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was last seen roughly four days prior and there were no obvious indications of found play. “

“However, the case is being handled as a homicide investigation until completion of an autopsy,” Bish said.
