The Bulldog Band shined last weekend during a competition in Milledgeville. According to Band Director Jeffrey Rowswer, the Morgan County Marching Band won all Superior Ratings in Drum Major, Drum Line, Colorguard, and Band. The Bulldog Band placed in Class 5-A winning second Runner Up Grand Champion award.

“This recognized the band being overall ranked third out of 18 performing bands of the day,” said Rowser.  “The band’s show ‘Pure Imagination,’ featuring the music from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, was well received by the crowd demonstrated by a standing ovation at the end of the performance!”

Rowser was impressed with turnout of people supporting the Bulldog Band. “We had tremendous bulldog fans, and parent support as our entourage grew throughout the day as our performance time came closer and closer!” said Rowswer.

According to Rowser, this latest success is the result of the band’s raw talent and exceptional hard work.

“The Bulldog Marching Band has grown in size and recent accomplishments.  The students have worked hard from 6-12 grades and our vertical alignment is superb from middle through high school,” said Rowser. “The students showed that they believe in what we are doing and so proud to represent our community. We are one of the few schools at competition that sing their alma mater before we leave the stadium in any type event.  So much school pride in my band kids.  We are the Keepers of the Spirit!’” said Rowser.

The next competition for the Bulldog Band is Saturday, October 29th at Rockdale High School’s Reid Stadium.
