Madison Drug is burglarized

Madison Drug Store was burglarized in the early morning hours of Friday, October 7 and thousands of narcotics were removed.

According to Madison Police Department reports, officers responded to a 2:10 a.m. alarm at Madison drug and when they arrived they observed that a front glass door had been shattered with a large rock. The officers cleared the drug store of any suspects.

When owner Gary Whetzel arrived he provided the officers with a quick inventory of items taken. Reports state that an initial estimate of stolen narcotics include Lorazephan and Klonopin. Nearly 3,000 pills were taken, reports state.
