It was an awesome day in Morgan County as the cross-country teams finished on top with both girls and boys in first place, according to Head Coach Erin Spinks.

Dalton Shaw ended his senior year leaving a legacy here on the course for those teammates coming up to strive to beat!  His time of 17:51 is the fastest time on the Rick Boulis Invitational!

Our seniors were recognized before their race with senior night.  Each senior was escorted through a tunnel of their teammates by their parents.  Coach Spinks read their answers to her senior questionnaire as they walked through.  They described their proudest moments, accomplishments through high school, plans for the future, and what they wanted to leave behind for the team.

It was a special day honoring these seven special runners.  They were Franky Hayes, Jordan Hilsman, Carter Martin, Jessie Pagett, Allie Randall, Dalton Shaw, and Carolina Zant.

Coach Spinks said, “I am blessed to have had the opportunity to step into the position of head coach for their senior year!  They have worked hard with me to assure that this season would be the best for our team!  They have provided leadership, encouragement, excitement, and true dedication for our team.  They will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

The boys finished one, two, three, four, six, eight, nine, and twelve in the event while the girls were almost as dominant finishing in the two, seven, eight, nine and twelve spots.  Coach Spinks has done a superior job in her first year of coaching the team by getting the community behind the team and her public relations on social media.  We all appreciate her love for the kids and the sport.  Go Dogs.
