Sentences handed down in criminal court hearings

A criminal court week was held last week in Morgan County Superior Court. The following persons were adjudicated during the criminal court week.

Kelly Stueber, 50, Madison, pled guilty to one count illegal use of communication facility and was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $1,000. According to court documents, Stueber was arrested on May 19, 2016 as part of a Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) involved with the possession and distribution of cocaine.

Bobbie J. Prescott, 53, Madison, pled guilty to one count illegal use of communication facility and was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $1,000. According to court documents, Stueber was arrested on April 26, 2016, 2016 as part of a Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) involved with the possession and distribution of cocaine.

Gene Bishop, 59, Madison, pled guilty to one count illegal use of communication facility and was sentenced to three years probation and was fined $1,000. According to court documents, Stueber was arrested on March 30, 2016 as part of a Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) involved with the possession and distribution of cocaine.

Kaylee Nicole Armistead, 19, Madison pled guilty to one count theft by shoplifting. She was sentenced to six months. According to court documents, Armistead was arrested on January 23, 2015 after she took phone cards, cosmetics and a Play Station Headset Upgrade Kit, all valued under $300. In a separate but related ruling, Armistead was also adjudicated as guilty on one count possession of marijuana less than an ounce and theft by shoplifting. For both these charges she was sentenced to 159 days to run concurrent.

Timothy Lawrence Briscoe, 30, Rutledge pled guilty to one count distribution of marijuana. He was sentenced to eight years probation and was fined $1,000. According to court documents, Briscoe was arrested on October 15, 2015 after he met a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office confidential informant at Rutledge Wing Shack and then followed the confidential informant to the Rutledge Liquor Store where he gave the confidential informant a sample of marijuana.

Edward Scanlan Backus, 46, Rutledge pled guilty to one count theft by receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $500. According to court documents, Backus was arrested on March 16, 2015 after he pawned a Rugar .22 caliber rifle and Jaguar Crossbow that had been reported stolen.

Daltin Edward Guderian, 20, Buckhead, pled guilty to one count battery. He was sentenced to on year probation and fined $500. According to court documents, Guderian was arrested on July 7, 2015 after he struck a woman in the mouth and pushed the woman onto a bed and choked her.

James Stephen Cronic, 64, Buckhead pled guilty to one count driving while license suspended. He was sentenced to 90 days confinement. According to court documents, Cronic was arrested on July 19, 2015 during a routine traffic stop.

Keneisa Kwonsuan Hall, 29, Watkinsville pled guilt ot one count DUI. He was sentenced to one year probation with the first 24 house to be served in confinement and he was fined $800. According to court documents, Hall was arrested on July 5, 2015 on Apalachee River Road.

Perry Drake Nesbitt, 57, Greensboro poled guilt to failure to maintain lane and DUI. He was sentenced to one year probation with the first 48 hours to be served in confinement. According to court documents, Nesbitt was arrested on December 5, 2015.

Peter Randell McKinnie, 37, Stone Mountain pled guilty to one count no license on person. He was sentenced to one year probation and was fined $500. According to court records, McKinnie was arrested on May 30, 2015 on Intersate 20.

Jose Ramon Valero, Jr., 19, Augusta pled guilty to one count driving while license suspended, one count reckless driving, two counts speeding and one count giving false information to a police officer. He was sentenced to two years probation and was fined $1,350. According to court documents, Valero was arrested on September 27, 2015 for driving 102 mph in a 70 mph zone.

Christopher Jejuan Franklin, 21, Covington pled guilty to one count possession of a controlled substance, one count drugs not in original container and one count possession of a drug related object. He was sentenced to three years probation and fined $1,000. According to court records, Franklin was arrested on January 24, 2016 for an initial speeding charge on Interstate 20.

Danny Louie Cronic, 36, Madison pled guilty to one count possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to one year probation and fined $500. According to court documents, Cronic was arrested on February 2, 2016 on Lower Apalachee Road.

Willie Roger Laguinn, 40, Madison pled nolo to one count fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. He was sentenced to one year probation and fined $500. According to court records, Laguinn was arrested on September 15, 2015 on Burney Street.

Jason Troy Henry, 33, Covington pled guilt to one count aggravated assault and one count possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to 20 years with the first four years to serve in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. He was fined $1,000. According to court documents, Henry was arrested on June 3, 2016 after he attacked a man and a juvenile at a Drake Road residence. Warrants allege that Henry accused both of taking $350 from his truck. He then struck the man in the jaw and then pulled a gun while the man was on the ground and pointed the gun at the man’s head and made him strip to see if he had hidden any money. He also took the man’s wallet. He then fired the gun into the ground as the man and the juvenile fled the area on foot.
