According to Snow, “Out of the Silence is a historical mystery set in Madison in 1848. It is a story of the beauty and grace of the antebellum south where well-kept secrets are suddenly uncovered by the murder of slaves and a slave owner, Fletcher Dickson. As the Cunninghams and Sheriff J.D. Ponder work to solve the mystery, they uncover the human capacity to shut out pain as well as the mind’s ability to disconnect from the atrocities committed by humankind.”
Dr. Snow lived most of her life in the Atlanta area and moved to Mississippi in the late 90s to teach. She is a retired associate professor from The University of Mississippi and recently moved to Madison. At the university she taught counseling and directed a play therapy center for children. Through her years in Mississippi, she wrote four southern mystery novels, and Out of the Silence is the first in the series published.
