The Madison Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC) showcased a variety of local talent at last Sunday’s Community Concert. Local musicians, singers, and dancers all took to the MMCC auditorium stage to a sold out crowd to perform a number of holiday-themed songs.
The event featured the Morgan County High School (MCHS) small ensemble, The Morgan County Middle School choir and jazz band, singers Dona Franks, Lydie Koffi, and Kathleen Bryant, and dancers from Pointe of Grace.
“The Cultural Center was proud to host our annual community holiday concert this past Sunday – a concert where the entire community can come together to celebrate the season with music and dance. This year’s concert was a perfect way to kick off the holiday season,” said Rebecca Bonas, Performance Director & Facilities Manager. “Morgan County truly has some lively and talented performers. They delighted our full house with music and dance and brought so much joy and laughter to the crowd – a true cup of cheer to start the season!”
According to Bonas, the MMCC has been putting on the community concert off and on for over 10 years. The event was free and open to the public, but many, in the holiday spirit, brought canned goods as donations for the Caring Place. United Bank sponsored the event. Jack’s Creek also donated a wreath that was raffled off during the MMCC’s Community Concert.
