The Raceway Convenience store, Eatonton Road, was robbed December 16 by a gun–wielding man.

According to Madison Police Department reports, a clerk at the store told officers that at approximately 10:24 p.m. a man covered from head to toe in black clothing, including a black mask and black gloves, entered the store and pointed a black and silver handgun at the clerk.

The clerk said the man demanded money and after the clerk emptied the cash register the man directed the clerk to go into a bathroom. The clerk said he was walking toward the bathroom when he heard the man leave and he chased him outside the store.

A female witness told the clerk that the robber jumped in a white Honda or Toyota and fled.

The clerk did not call officers until 10 minutes after the robbery, reports state. He told officers he first called his boss to explain what had happened.
