Snow is a rarity in Georgia, but a slight dusting of snow is on its way.
The first snowfall of the year is predicated to arrive in Morgan County this weekend. A light snowstorm is expected to emerge early Saturday morning as temperatures plummet and precipitation rolls in, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are anticipated to drop down to 29 degrees by Friday evening, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation.
Snow and ice accumulations are predicated to be less than one inch during the night.
There is a 70 percent chance of a light snow expected to begin early Saturday morning, with ice and snow accumulations still predicated at less than one inch.
As temperatures rise again throughout Saturday, the snowfall will most likely turn to rain by the afternoon.
Sunny skies are set to return by Sunday morning, with a high temperature of 42 degrees.
