Kimberly Anne Proctor

Kimberly Anne Proctor, 45 of Newborn, died January 4, 2017.  Kim was the daughter of Ray and Deborah Proctor.  She was born in Atlanta on May 1, 1971.  She attended Georgia Southern University and obtained her nursing degree from the Medical College of Georgia.  Kim loved being a nurse, especially working with the elderly.  She also liked to read and spending time on social media. As an amputee, Kim became involved with Shamrock Prosthetics in Athens and served as a care ambassador. Kim loved her family and was especially fond of her niece and nephews.

Kim Proctor is survived by her parents, Ray and Deborah Proctor and her brother, Brian Proctor and Amanda.  She also leaves a niece Sarah as well as nephews, Jake, Braden and Christopher.  Kim also leaves other family and friends.

The family received friends on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.  The funeral service was held Monday at 11a.m. in the chapel.  Interment followed at 1:30 p.m. at Fairview Memorial Park in Stockbridge.

Eddie J. Head

Eddie James Head, 67, of 960 Mapp Street, Rutledge, departed this life Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Abbey Hospice, Social Circle.

Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2017 at Greater Moses Baptist Church, 1389 Keencheefoonee Road, Rutledge, Rev. Joseph Williams, Pastor, Minister Reginald Williams, Officiated, Pastor Samuel Head, Jr., Eulogist; burial followed in the Union Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 2730 Old Mill Road, Rutledge.

Mr. Head leaves to cherish his memory; a devoted wife, Florine Briney Head; a brother, Elder Samuel (Pastor Stella) Head Sr.; sisters, Pearl Head (David) Williams and Doris Head (William) Sheppard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert Lee (Rachel) Briney, Jessie Briney, Rev. Ezell (Ester) Briney Jr., Tommy J. (Donna) Briney, Doris Nell Hicks and Emma Lawrence; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
