We are asking professional artists, amateur artists, budding artists, really anyone who wants to participate to create an 8×10 painting that will then become part of The Great Art Wall of Madison. Sections of the wall will be displayed in many locations around town before the entire wall will come together at the unveiling on May 13th.  Just stop by the Madison Artists Guild Gallery located at 123 S Main Street in Madison to pick up a free canvas or to sign up for a workshop.  For more information, call Lori Williams at 770.312.3495. Tools of the Trade Exhibit at Steffen Thomas Museum.  Most exhibitions focus on the finished work of art and the end result of an artist’s creative process, but Tools of the Trade emphasizes and highlights the materials and processes used by Master Artist Steffen Thomas during the creation and production of his works of art. By showcasing the studio tools, sketches and models that Thomas utilized, this exhibition offers an intimate look into Steffen Thomas as an artist and an individual. The Madison Artists Guild will have an opening reception of a special exhibit, Reduce…Reuse…Repurpose at 7pm in the Oak Room of the James Madison Inn located at 260 W Washington St. Come and see how our artists can be creative using only materials they find from sustainable resources, from discarded materials or recycled materials. The Madison Artists Guild invites everyone to come and celebrate the unveiling of the 2017 Great Art Wall of Madison on Saturday, May 13 from 5 – 8 pm at the Madison Artists Guild Gallery on Main Street. For those who have bought $30 tickets, they’ll be in the drawing to receive one of the canvases as we dismantle the wall. So join in on the celebration. We’ll have drinks and tasty treats. Tickets are now on sale. We’ll only sell as many tickets as we have canvases. Stop by MAGallery at 123 S Main Street in Madison.
