Summer is here and so is the music. Madison and Rutledge held outdoor concerts this past weekend, kicking off the summer music season. The Atlanta Symphony Quintet peformed in Town Park in Downtown Madison as part of the 15th Annual Madison Chamber Music Festival. About 250 attended the concert. The Brass Quartet played a variety of music, from classical and patriotic tunes to a series of movie music.
Rutledge also kicked off its summer music series with a performance by local musician Scott Little. Little performed an acoustic set for listeners enjoying the beautiful weather.
More concerts are set for this coming weekend in Madison and Rutledge.
On Sunday, June 11 at 6 p.m. the City of Angels Saxophone Quartet will be performing in brand new venue, Empire Mills in Madison. Contact the MMCC for details. Rutledge will hold another concert Friday, June 9 at the gazebo in Downtown Rutledge featuring Swamp Rabbit Railroad, a folk/bluegrass band.
